The Circle of Horses is a non-profit, community based, equine-assisted program offering an alternative modality to individuals with physical or cognitive disabilities, depression, stress and anxiety.
The program utilizes two types of instructors—a certified therapeutic riding instructor and a trained equine responsive to the participants. Our volunteers work hard to encourage and support participants.
The Circle of Horses creates an environment allowing individuals to interact with volunteers from the community. A key outcome and success measure of this program is the enhancement of the participant's day-to-day listening and speaking skills achieved through improved concentration, patience, confidence, and self esteem. Other benefits include better coordination, body strength, and balance.
Program participants include adults as well as children. Veterans and senior citizens are welcome.
We are located near the ten mile bridge just north of the town of Fort Bragg.
The coast facility offers lessons throughout the year and obtains funding from fees, tax exempt donations, and grants.
