INSTRUCTORS
Our program has a PATH International certified riding instructor and instructors in training. Each brings a different set of skills that enhance our lessons.
This program is unique in its use of horses. They give participants a sense of self confidence when leading a horse around the arena or sitting up tall astride these magnificent animals. Not all horses qualify for the program, and must be able to realize the rider's or walker's emotional and physical state. Each need to be calm and patient when the participant is learning the art of grooming or walking them around the arena.
Horses are “in the moment” and have the extraordinary ability to use their innate intuition and empathetic behavior to mirror whatever might be projected by the people around them. This has been hugely helpful from an instructional standpoint for nonverbal children or at risk youth who have had very poor communication and trust issues with people. Many of those individuals use nonverbal ways of protecting themselves from others around them.
